Celebrating Wacky Wednesday

Kia ora bloggers, Today is Wacky Wednesday for the whole school. This is a special day for all of us because we all get to dress up in whatever we want  Some of us didn’t wear anything wacky. All the teachers and the principal wore wacky stuff. Today is going to be fun because we had a lot unusual and wacky hairstyles, wacky clothing and face accessories like face paint. Some of my friends wore dresses and some just wore wigs. One of them dressed up as a army soldier. Also students from our class wore their jerseys backwards. I didn’t dress up for Wacky Wednesday. The difficult part about today was trying to dress up in wacky clothes. The easiest part about today was seeing the whole school having fun and dressing up in wacky clothes.

Do Some Science Man

Kia ora bloggers, for the past 2 weeks in term 3  Te Ngahere has been making science experiments for the science fair. Some things I learned about this was the scientific method, the hypothesis and the variables. I learned that the controlled variables is something that stays the same. The parts I found difficult was waiting till the last minute to test my experiment. Something I would do differently is to get the testing done earlier and not muck around. While doing this I tried to used my hoe of Tu Maia and Kaha to keep on working when I'm in the pit and struggling. The hardest part about the science fair was making the slides and doing the testing. The part about the science fair that I am proud of was getting to school early and doing my board before Nano girl comes.

Te Reo Māori Language

Kia ora bloggers, This week for Te reo Māori we had to make a DLO to show people about feelings and how to say them. I really like Te reo because I can experience more about my culture and learn more Māori language. We used and website called education perfect it helped us figure out how to pronounce the reo Māori properly and equivalently so we don’t confuse people It didn’t take long to get them right. I love learning more and more Te reo Māori. The Te reo we were learning to ask someone how they are. In Te reo you say Ka te pehea koe. Then the other person would say Ka te something ahau. The challenging part about Te reo Māori is making the DLO. The easiest part about the Te Reo Māori is pronouncing the words. The things I need to work on is doing my work and not talking to anyone. Have you learnt about Te Reo Māori before?

Fantastic Smart Relationship

In Te Ngahere this week we have been learning about being safe online and not doing the wrong thing and talking to strangers online. Our teacher showed us a video of a girl named becky doing the wrong things online and in real life. The reason why we did this is because so we can do the Right things online And doing the wrong things online. We had to make a DLO for the work my group is nearly finished we still need to work on a little bit more. In the future I will not talk to strangers online that I don’t know. The easiest part about the smart relationship is doing the DLO and the slides work. The hardest part about it is watching the video and getting distracted by my friends.

Have you ever done smart relationship work before?

Do You Follow Instructions?

    Do You Follow Instructions?

Kia ora bloggers, In Te Ngahere we have been learning about following instructions and reading the instructions carefully. Our teacher gave us an instructions test. The first instructions were to read the instructions carefully before doing the work. The challenging part about the test was trying not to write while reading the instructions and the part I need to work on is not talking to anyone. When I was reading the instructions I was writing down the answer as well. After we finished the teacher ask why we were doing the test then I said that It was to see if we would follow instructions. Have you done a instructions test before?

Mind Blowing Technology

Kia ora, Yesterday the year 7&8’s went to Morewa School for technology. The year 8's were in wood work with Mr E.  He gave us a quiz to do about safety before doing anything. When we finished he showed us what we were not supposed to touch and what we’re allowed to touch. We practiced using tools and machinery.  Mr E Showed us how to make a waka he had a shorter piece of wood than us. Mr E  drew  how its supposed to be done. We had a bigger piece of  wood than the woodwork teacher. The challenging part about woodwork was drawing the waka on the wood, The part I done well with was using the tools and machinery. Something I need to work on is tracing the waka.  Have you ever been to Technology before?

Do some maths man

Kia ora blogger, In class today we have been learning about decimals and how to figure the answer and  using algorithm for  maths me and the other people in my group were doing it as well.  At first it was hard Because I have never done decimals before. But then when the teacher told us how to do it. I started getting used to it then we went off and did the work. My friend calais  in my group was getting frustrated with it. So one of the teachers Gina help him then said to me that we could use algorithm to help us with answering the questions. You should use decimals to solve because you using plus’s to solve the answer.the easy part about decimals was using algorithm to solve the question. The challenging part was the dots in between the number and not using algorithm. Do you use algorithm to solve decimal questions  for math?
